If you feel you are “dental phobic” you are not alone. Many
people don’t go to the dentist at all unless tooth pain or trauma
makes it impossible to avoid. There is no reason why a patient should
suffer through treatment with such anxiety. There is help! Oral sedation
is available and offered through our office.
How does it work?
You take a sedative pill the night before your treatment, and another
one an hour before your scheduled appointment. A companion must drive
you to your visit, as you will be drowsy. You will be escorted to our
comfort
treatment room and placed on equipment that will monitor your vital signs
during the entire procedure. Once you are comfortable Dr. Traub and his
experienced clinical team will take care of your dental needs. When finished,
your companion will take you home to finish your day, comfortable and
relaxed. You may have little memory of the experience. Complex dental
treatments that may require six to eight appointments can
often be done in as few as two, while you are sedated. People who have
difficulty
getting
numb usually have no problem when relaxed and sedated. It really works!
You can relax through your dental appointment.
Not everyone is a candidate for oral sedation. If you have any questions,
please call our office. We will be happy to schedule your evaluation.
